They suggested that integrating the checklist into the electronic health record and regular refresher workshops for anesthesia providers could further improve compliance and patient safety. Future research could include prospective studies comparing checklist utilization and evaluation of the checklist in different patient populations, including non-trauma patients and ICU settings. Overall, the study highlights the effectiveness of using checklists in reducing extubation failure rates.
