This journal course provides an essential overview of the most common occupational hazards faced by anesthesia providers in the perioperative environment, including radiation, waste anesthetic gases, methyl methacrylate, noise exposure, and surgical smoke. Learners will explore how these hazards affect short- and long-term health, review current evidence on associated risks such as respiratory illness, reproductive complications, carcinogenic exposure, and sensory impairment, and identify effective strategies to mitigate danger in the operating room. Through this activity, participants will strengthen their awareness of workplace risks and apply practical, evidence-based measures to promote a safer and more sustainable practice environment.
