Many preceptors are new to the field of nurse anesthesia as they assume this leadership position. Precepting doesn’t happen naturally, it requires the knowledge and skill of the CRNA role, but it also requires patience and practice.

Learning Outcome(s):
  1. Identify the transition process for students moving from critical care nursing positions into the student nurse anesthesia role.
  2. Understand the difference between mentoring and precepting.
  3. Describe best practices of precepting in nurse anesthesia.

This program has been prior approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology for 0.75 Class A CE credits; Code Number 1046135; Expiration Date 9/22/2028.
