While sevoflurane is widely used and deemed safe for clinical anesthesia, emerging research highlights potential reproductive risks associated with chronic exposure, particularly in male subjects. This course addresses the current gap in understanding the impact of sevoflurane on male reproductive health, including its effects on fertility and offspring sex ratios.

Participants will review existing evidence on the reproductive risks linked to sevoflurane, explore potential adverse outcomes such as altered offspring sex ratios and increased spontaneous abortions, and discuss the need for improved safety protocols. The course aims to raise awareness, encourage further research, and promote preventive measures to safeguard healthcare professionals exposed to sevoflurane.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. List the reproductive risks associated with chronic sevoflurane exposure in males.
  2. Perform safety protocols and preventative measures for healthcare professionals to mitigate these risks.
  3. Conduct further research to develop targeted interventions.
