This course explores the pressing issue of maternal health disparities in the U.S., particularly among racial and ethnic minorities. The course presents data on maternal mortality and morbidity, highlights disparities in anesthesia care during cesarean deliveries, and examines contributing factors such as implicit bias and systemic inequities. Learners are introduced to evidence-based strategies to improve outcomes, foster communication, and promote equity in perinatal care.
