This course provides an overview of anesthetic considerations for pregnant patients undergoing nonobstetric surgery. Learners will explore the physiological changes in pregnancy, risks to both mother and fetus, and the timing and type of surgeries commonly performed. The course addresses fetal and maternal risks, teratogenicity of anesthetic agents, intraoperative monitoring, and anesthesia management strategies to optimize outcomes during all trimesters.
